Solar Applications Engineer, Veeco Instruments

  • Provides project and engineering leadership of Veeco’s solar components business
  • Maintains the project schedule from the initial system sales order through installation and customer acceptance including directing schedules, ensuring custom components meet customer requirements, communicating facility requirements and adherence to timelines and milestones.
  • Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies.
  • Develops and recommends corrective actions.
  • Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

 

  • Self motivated and able to set and meet schedules
  • SAP, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, basic CAD/Solidworks
  • Embedded control system design and development using PC, WAGO PLC, Rockwell Automation / Allen Bradley Motion and I/O products and custom controls.

 

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years experience, preferably in a semiconductor or photovoltaic field
  • BS in Engineering or related degree.

JOB NOTE:

This job is a key position in a small, flexible engineering group that is developing new deposition technologies for the solar power market. The ideal candidate will have experience with photovoltaic deposition technologies, vacuum system and component design, strong customer relations.
