Automotive Systems Technology EMEA - This position is part of a Systems Engineering team in the EMEA Go-To-Market organization and involves taking ownership for technology development for the automotive market. 

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations

Your area of responsibility encompasses developing innovative semiconductor solutions for future electronic platforms in vehicles. In cooperation with leading automotive OEMs and Tier1s you will be developing innovative hardware and software solutions in a cross-functional position servicing body, chassis & powertrain.

In this position you will

  • identify, assess and define critical system-level requirements for automotive functional safety applications in cooperation with leading European OEMs and Tier1s;
  • lead engineering projects;
  • interact with leading OEMs and Tier1s;
  • propose and define architectural and product requirements for MCUs in close cooperation with the product division on a world-wide basis;
  • evaluate innovative solutions and propose platform solutions that include MCU, sensor, and analog components and patent new concepts;
  • support the world-wide sales and field applications team with expertise on functional safety;
  • cooperate with and consult other automotive technical teams world-wide;
  • represent Freescale in automotive industry consortia. * Specific Knowledge/Skills We are looking for a candidate with
  • a technical background in Electrical Engineering, Automotive ECU design, MCU architecture, and embedded software engineering;
  • a degree in electronic or electrical engineering or similar discipline;
  • knowledge of functional safety, safety certification (IEC61508, ISO26262) and dependable computing;
  • knowledge of processor architectures (Power architecture, S12(X), ARM, etc.);
  • experience with embedded software development and debugging strategies;
  • knowledge of analog circuits and sensor technology (accelerometer, gyro etc);
  • a strong customer focus with technical and external communication experience;
  • a talent for positive and productive relationships with internal teams;
  • a track record of R&D related publications.
