Within Freescale�s Microcontroller Solutions Group, the Automotive Product Management Operation is responsible for the continued development, support and enablement of its market leading microcontroller portfolio to service the Automotive market space. This posted position will report to the Product Enablement Manager as part of the Automotive Product Management operation.

The Role�

As part of a complete microcontroller ecosystem, the main focus of this role is to lead the global automotive embedded software marketing efforts to ensure best-in-class software that seamlessly complements Freescale�s microcontroller products.

The scope of this position includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Software product requirements gathering: This will require global collaboration with customers, sales, field applications engineers, etc� to ensure that all market needs are identified and detailed.
• Product positioning: This position will be responsible for equipping the sales and field applications teams with the tools to sell and position the value of Freescales software solutions. This includes pricing and values estimation analysis.
• 3rd party relationship management for those components that are needed in the market but developed by external vendors.
• Development of a long-term embedded software strategy and roadmap that compliments Freescale�s MCU roadmap.
• Project prioritization � Understanding the critical needs of the market and rationalizing them against the development resource throughput in order to make confident commitments to customers.
• Collaborate with Freescale legal teams to ensure compliance with FSL standards.

Your Profile

• Minimum of 5 years of embedded software development experience, preferably in the automotive market space.
• Previous marketing experience. Preferably in either automotive embedded software or microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of software development, test, certification, and quality practices and standards is essential.
• Experience with the AUTOSAR specifications is highly desirable.
• Solid working knowledge of general 32 bit MCU architectuctures is necessary. Highly desirable is knowledge of Freescale�s 16 and 32 bit automotive products, S12X and Power Architecture, respectively.
• Automotive networking, Powertrain, or Body Electronic systems knowledge is a plus.
