Application Development Engineer, KLA Tencor
Responsibilities:
Provide applications development support for company disk and/or wafer inspection products. Define and evaluate the feasibility of new applications or products, including characterization, alpha & beta testing and pilot tools in the ramp phase. Design and conduct experiments, collect data and make recommendations for best methods. Generate internal specifications on applications for software and hardware implementation and prepare training materials. Assist with assessing potential applications to meet customer needs and act as liaison for customers on technical and service related problems. Provide technical presentations on complex systems to customers, including in house customer demonstrations and head-to-head activities at customer facilities. Travel to client sites may be required.
Qualifications
Positions may require a Masters degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Math, Physics or related field and 2 years of work experience in job offered or 2 years of work experience in an engineering-related occupation. Education or experience may include:
1) SEM optics & SEM system calibration and matching techniques;
2) semiconductor device technology;
3) critical dimension metrology & semiconductor manufacturing process control technology;
4) photolithography and photolithography simulation technology;
5) wafer inspection systems application in semiconductor manufacturing; and
6) technical customer communication.
Travel to client sites may be required. Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
