Field Application Engineer, KLA Tencor
Job Description
Provide application support to a key customer to include working closely with the customer to develop Best Known Methods and related applications for new technology. Work closely with the factory to define customer requirements and needs for new technologies. An Application Engineer will assist the sales staff in assessing potential applications of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications. Travel to the K-T factory and other Micron sites worldwide will be required. Must have the ability to manage long term projects at multiple sites and must be able to manage, communicate, and interface effectively with the customer. This requisition is to support e-beam inspection tools at Micron. This job requisition is for a position in Manassas, Va..
Qualifications/Education Desired
BS or preferably Masters or PhD in physics, chemical, electrical engineering, optical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent. Desired backgrounds include any of the following: project management experience, photo process experience, defect inspection review experience, optics experience, networking experience, Unix experience, Microsoft OS experience, factory automation experience, fab process experience, semiconductor design or manufacturing experience, customer management skills, solid communications and reporting skills.
An ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of various factors.
Must be able to exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
Must be able to maintain working relationship with customers, customer support engineers, technical support and sales team.
