Senior Algorithm Engineer , KLA Tencor
Responsibilities: KLA-Tencor is seeking applications for an algorithms lead. The algorithm group develops, implements and deploys image/signal processing algorithms on a KLA-Tencor wafer inspection product. This position involves playing the lead role for both the deliverables to our current generation product lines as well as providing the technical leadership and expertise to meet our next-generation performance requirements.
Managing current platform deliverables involves interfacing across cross-functional teams to ensure algorithm requirements are established, documented and correct, ensuring that the algorithm performance requirements are met, and delivered on time. In addition, the work must be of excellent quality in terms of performance, reliability, and customer ease of use.
The development of next-generation algorithms involves providing the technical vision to help determine the overall algorithm roadmap. He/She must work with Marketing, Characterization and Applications and Systems Engineering departments to determine Algorithm requirements and success metrics up front. Providing the technical leadership to drive the development of revolutionary algorithms for future platforms is also a must. He/She must have the ability to analytically and experimentally evaluate the pros and cons of various approaches to ensure that the right algorithms are developed.
He/She must be able to effectively communicate algorithm status, results, issues, and roadmap to senior and executive management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- M.S/Ph.D + 5 years relevant industry experience
- Extensive knowledge of Image Processing theory and applications
- Experience leading a team of technologists and a proven track record of delivery
- Good mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to approach problem solving in systematic, logical fashion.
- Good software skills
- Ability to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions.
- Team Player
Desired skills:
- Knowledge of Multiprocessor hardware and algorithm optimization techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of SW techniques for programming in an embedded environment is a plus.
