Buyer Planner, KLA Tencor


Responsibilities
Buyer/Planner 4s are responsible for the movement of materials through the service parts supply chain, from the point of demand to the ultimate destination. Focus will be changing from the tactical planning/order placement duties of a traditional planning and procurement function to that of a systems manager of the supply chain. More focus will shift to the maintenance of the system data integrity and resolution of process exceptions, than simply the volume of orders placed. The successful Buyer/Planner 4 will be flexible enough to modify their approach to how they manage their desk as these changes take place. Additionally, this person will play a key role in the evolution of the changes and be a driver of many of them.

This position will require a strong systems background, and this person must possess a basic knowledge of how relational databases work. This will become more important as the job evolves. A hands-on knowledge of SAP, and the other planning tools used to manage the supply chain, as well as how they interact, is going to become more important over time.

Job Duties:
Manage all aspects of the daily supply chain for your assigned desk to ensure the optimal use of the service parts inventory for your assigned parts/commodities. Also, work with our outsourced supply chain management partners to manage the following:
Review of the Materials Plan
Order Placement
Open Order Management
Exception Resolution

Support the manufacturing organization in addition to the Field Service Organization through the efficient management of the supply chain and utilization of the existing inventory network.

Drive specific issues related to parts you are responsible for to closure in a timely manner.

Facilitate the efficient operations of the reverse logistics process.

Actively participate in the development of process improvements that add value to the organization and the company as a whole.

Maintain the data elements required for proper materials planning by the planning systems.

Conduct supplier scorecards and drive supplier improvements that add value to the organization and the company as a whole.
Qualifications
2+ years experience working with ECOs and/or in an new product introduction environment
2+ years working in the role of administering contracts
2+ years of management experience
1+ year of experience working with an outsourced supply chain partner
