Engineer IV - Electro-Optical Instrumentation, MKS Instruments, Inc.
Position Summary: The candidate will design electro-optical instrument electronics employing embedded microcontrollers, programmable-logic arrays, and analog circuitry. This position is also responsible for legacy system electronics on existing product lines, and working in an engineering team consisting of a system engineer, optical engineer, software engineers, and algorithm developers.
Position Responsibilities:
- Specification of outside purchased electronic assemblies.
- Lead technical contact for interaction with electronics vendors.
- Create drawings and documents in a controlled product development environment.
- CE and international compliance.
Requirements:
- M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10 years of experience or B.S. degree with 15 years of experience
- Able to design an instrument control electronic system from top-level specifications.
- Embedded firmware programming experience.
- Electronic design using programmable-logic arrays.
- Specify interfaces to computers, circuits or other electronic systems.
- Analog design experience for optical detector preamplifiers, servo control, and motor control.
