Design Engineer Manager, Qimonda North America
Qimonda AG, the new memory company carved out of Infineon Technologies AG on May 1, 2006, is a Top 4 DRAM company worldwide (according to Gartner Dataquest, February 2006), a leader in 300mm manufacturing, and one of the top suppliers of DRAM products for the PC and Server markets. Qimonda, currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of Infineon, is headquartered in Munich and has generated net sales of 2.8 billion EUR in last fiscal year 2005. We have approximately 12,000 employees worldwide including 1,700 in R&D with access to five 300mm manufacturing sites on three continents. And we operate five major R&D facilities, including our lead R&D-center in Dresden. With a historical emphasis on PC and server products, the company is now focusing on products for graphics, mobile and consumer applications using its power-saving trench technology. Job Duties: Cooperates closely with design team leaders, project leaders, product line management, development management and department managers of other disciplines in planning and executing of projects. Provides resources, skills and competencies with respect to project requirements. Provides organizational support and advise during the project execution Ensures efficient use of design resources within projects in-line with project planning and individual development plans. Controls current and future requirements to the department: Assesses and develops team members skills and competencies continuously with respect to these requirements Aligns the internal organization of the department along these requirements Evaluates and assesses performance of department members, creates individual people development plans and supports people on implementation. Identifies training needs and opportunities Analyses, benchmarks and continuously improves current design methodologies and processes Identifies future design flow and infrastructure requirements and opportunities to improve the efficiency of the department. Supports and provides inputs to the strategy and roadmap development of the Business Unit. Requirements Candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree and 5-years of relevant design and/or DRAM development experience. Demonstrated excellent communication and leadership skills. Previous management experience desired.
