Technical Supervisor (300mm Metrology), Qimonda North America
Qimonda North America Corporation is looking for an outstanding Technical Supervisor to join our team in Richmond (Sandston) Virginia. As a Technical Supervisor you will be responsible for 300mm Metrology Process and Equipment Engineering. We are looking for an individual who can simultaneously manage several projects and prioritize according to business needs. This person will lead the daily efforts to resolve product scrap, product hold and process down issues. Previous Metrology process or equipment engineering experience is a plus.
Education Requirements or Equivalency:
- BS/BA degree or minimum 8 years progressive experience in a related field.
Minimum Experience/Skill Requirements:
- Must be able to effectively multitask and manage multiple projects.
- Must have effective communication skills both written and oral.
Additional Experience (Preferred Requirements):
- Metrology process or equipment engineering experience preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and enforce all Qimonda policies and procedures.
- Complete performance plans and reviews. Work with Section Manager on salary planning.
- Address human resource issues involving direct reports according to Qimonda policies and procedures.
- Manage working hours using KRONOS and approve time on a bi-weekly basis.
- Manage the engineering schedule to ensure appropriate area coverage, including planning, scheduling and tracking PTO.
- Act as a mentor to less experienced direct reports.
- Attend HR Supervisor Meetings for regular updates to HR policies and procedures.
- Develop work methods and procedures in cooperation with operations process sustainers and maintenance technicians to improve work conditions and increase overall sustaining and preventative maintenance effectiveness.
- Lead the daily efforts to resolve product scrap, product hold, and process down issues.
- Schedule all planned department/area maintenance events.
- Schedule and maintain all department/area maintenance training activities.
- Prioritize and coordinate equipment maintenance and repair activity.
- Coordinate vendor support efforts.
- Lead the long-term effort to improve sustaining systems to reduce scrap, downtime and interruptions.
- Coach the process engineering group in the use of SPC techniques.
- Coach the process engineering group in the use of engineering problem solving techniques.
- Review on a daily basis scrap and MDFs, and assure proper disposition and closure of these items.
- Define and/or maintain an effective passdown method.
- Share responsibility with the Section Manager for representing the process group at daily and weekly manufacturing meetings, the weekly scrap meeting and HR and Leadership meetings.
- Utilize project management methodology to schedule and track progress of multiple tasks to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Develop solid vendor relationships and leverage expertise to increase uptime and availability.
