Field Service Engineer, Axcelis Technologies
Field Service Engineers travel to customer locations or are assigned to an individual customer site. They are responsible for on-site installations, startup, diagnosis, service and repair of Axcelis' equipment. They function as Axcelis' liaison with customers on administrative, technical, operational, and maintenance issues. They also assist our customers by selling and installing equipment modifications, upgrades and service contracts that enhance the operation of Axcelis' products.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and perform on-site installation and repair of complex Axcelis equipment with minimal supervision.
* Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic and mechanical problems.
* Serve as company liaison for all administrative and technical matters.
* Interface with factory & customer during all phases of installation. Ensure customer's facility and all support equipment is ready and available for installation of equipment.
* Promote the sale of equipment modifications, upgrades, service contracts that will enhance operation of Axcelis products.
* Install upgrades and retrofits on customer owned machines.
* Continuously instruct customer operators in the proper use, maintenance, and repair of Axcelis equipment
* Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance on all Axcelis products. Maintain, repair and clean mechanical systems and assemblies.
* Interface with technical support, design engineering, and manufacturing engineering on tooling, preventive maintenance procedures, design and reliability
* Completing field service reports after each assignment using Glovia
* Submit Engineering Action Requests to product support and safety engineering departments that include suggestions on the need for design changes and equipment improving modifications.
* Works from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals during the installation, debugging, and repair of Axcelis equipment at specific customer sites.
* Completes standard documentation procedures and forms
* Follows all established clean room cleanliness requirements, procedures, and protocols
Additional Responsibilities:
* Follow and adhere to all safety procedures and precautions and Identifies & correct potential safety hazards.
* Ensure all required equipment is on hand prior to starting maintenance.
* Guide less Experienced personnel in performance of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual maintenance and repair.
* Performs other related duties of a similar nature and complexity as required.

Education/Experience:
* Bachelors (Technical)
* 2 to 4 years of experience
