Manufacturing Engineer, Axcelis Technologies
Support the manufacturing engineering activities associated with Ion Implant tools. Design, coordinate and improve manufacturing processes and supports operations on a daily basis. Make process improvements to increase quality, and decrease cost and cycle time.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Participate in kaizens to improve factory efficiencies.
* Participate in Quality Teams to identify and correct causes of defects.
* Promote 5S on the factory floor.
* Assist Design and Manufacturing Engineers in the development of processes to enhance Form, Fit, and Function of the tools, configuration for manufacturability, and manufacturing processes.
* Act as resource for all cross-functional queries and initiatives requiring tool knowledge and operational history.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Participate in kaizens to improve factory efficiencies.
* Promote 5S on the factory floor. Observe and document assembly, interacting effectively with operations and design personnel, transcribing instructions by verbal, digital photographic, and basic drawing methods.
* Coordinate and direct, M/E work of others assigned by the M/E manager.
* May attend Design Reviews as needed.
Specific Duties:
* Design of basic fixtures and processes to support manufacture and/or test of semi-conductor equipment.
* Improve assembly processes through innovative build sequencing, poka-yoke, and time study conduction and evaluation.
* Originate Redline ECO corrections of documentation to ensure fulfillment of Form, Fit, and Function Design intentParticipate in Quality Teams to identify and correct causes of defects.
Skills/Knowledge/Ability:
* Basic Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, Access-preferred but not essential).
* Fundamental use of AutoCAD and/or PRO-E.
* Use of English language clearly and descriptively.
* General mechanical assembly skills (use of tools and techniques).
* Competency in organizational systems regarding engineering implementation (ECOs, Root Cause Analysis).
Expected Travel:
* 0-20 %
Education/Experience:
* Education Level required for this position: Minimum of degree in BS, ME, or EE.
* Years of experience: 1-5
