ASML is seeking an accomplished Material Science Engineer to join Manufacturing Operations in Richmond, California. Manufacturing Operations is part of ASML's Optics Division.
Job Responsibilities:
- Research and analysis of optical material properties for glass and ceramic used in advanced optical manufacturing production processes, including fundamental analysis of the physical and chemical interactions of glass and ceramic materials with polishing compounds and abrasive materials
- Design, modeling and simulation of optical materials to support advance process technology developments
- Evaluates, develops and recommends advanced optical material characterization technology to support state of the art lithography lens fabrication processes
- Conducts research and development for advanced extreme precision optics and technological procedures for production
- Researches new process technologies to support EUV (Extreme Ultra Violet) lithography lens fabrication
- Develops surface and bulk characterization material metrology systems to support optic production
- Supports advanced optical materials and components procurements
- Provides supervision over optical research technician activities
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. or MS in Material Science, Physics or Optics
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in material science, physics, or optics advanced research and development
- Experience in optical material characterization, optical material fabrication, optical coating materials and process monitoring and control required
- Experience and capability in using and leading efforts in statistical process
- Control and design of experiment methodologies strongly desired
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a commitment to achieving results by a set deadline
- Plan and conduct work that requires judgment in an independent evaluation, selection and adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
- Requires US citizenship or permanent residency documentation
